Baking with Stoney Clover Lane

Welcome to our first blog post ever! Sounds strange saying that after eleven years, but as brand builders we are always creating and time escapes us. There are so many ideas and goals I have written down that I keep in a file called "Things I must do before I retire!". For the longest time I have wanted to do a baking kit and share our love for baking with everyone at home.

In the midst of all the craziness our business was going through due to COVID-19 there were also some bright moments we are so thankful for.

The first few months were especially trying for our children. Complete separation from friends and family was a huge adjustment. I am sure you have seen the baking craze that this pandemic has created because we were just home and had more time on our hands. We also just love sweets! My daughter and her best friend started baking over FaceTime and seeing how happy that made them it made something click.

What if all besties could bake together over FaceTime or Zoom? I would totally bake with a little bubbly in hand for the adult version of a baking party! I thought, this is it. My baking kit finally has an even more important purpose, bringing people together. I decided to call our kit the Bestie Baking Box, cute right? Like all creative minds, the wheels never stop turning in our heads and thoughts of pink and fun memories to come also made me think Stoney Clover Lane! I know, random. We had been creating branded desserts for their Palm Beach events since opening their flagship store at The Royal Poinciana and are just obsessed with all their collections. I decided to message them and ask if this box would be something they would be on board with launching together. Fast forward many evenings of packaging design with Brandspired and the SCL team, we launched online! Many learning curves later, this box is the perfect kit!

While we adjusted the name a little, it is truly meant to bake with anyone who loves desserts and creating sweet memories. Not only does our kit make cakes and cupcakes but we are going to share how you can make birthday bars and yes even donuts! The boxes are now exclusively available in store at their locations.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a donut pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.Make the batter per instructions inside the box. Once you have prepared your batter, using a piping bag or batter dispenser pour mix into the donut cavities. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.

Allow to cool for about two minutes and transfer to a wire rack set on a large piece of parchment paper or on a large baking sheet. Allow the donuts to cool until you can handle them.

Melt your candy wafers until smooth and dip donuts halfway down staying even around the edges. While the donut is still upside down, shake off any excess melted candy. Your sprinkles should go on immediately before the donuts set.
